JOHN LENNON

After the break-up of the Beatles and with the encouragement of his wife and muse Yoko Ono John Lennon began to seriously pursue a career as a visual artist. Lennon specialized in figurative line drawings that were often reproduced as limited edition lithographs. The very rare, neon work in the exhibition is based on a popular image by the artist, The Hug, picturing Lennon embracing Ono.
